Before They Knew It, They Were Falling in Love. Small Scottish Beach Wedding, North Berwick

Well, it’s been a while to say the least but I’m over the moon to finally be able to share a new highlights film with you all. It was a real pleasure to be back filming a wedding so a massive thank you to Olga and Russell for booking me in to film their tremendous beach wedding.

We were treated to a stunning day in North Berwick. Was quite the relief after a pretty poor run of weather. We actually struck it pretty lucky as later that day we had some truly incredible thunder, lightening and torrential rain. Phew. What a scene for a wedding though. Sand, blue sea and the Bass Rock as a backdrop. Truly stunning.

A pretty spectacular arrival from Olga kicked us off for a beautiful ceremony led by the rather awesome Dorothy Nowak Humanist Celebrant. After a quick refreshment, we had the run of the beach for a genuinely beautiful couple shoot. Could have stayed there all day quite easily and a pleasure to be working alongside Lina Hayes Photography. I was a little nervous about the highlights film as we only had a few hours instead of the full day but I’m really pleased with how they turned out. Ended up with loads of great footage which I hope you’ll all enjoy. Great to be back!

I Can't Imagine Life Without You - Family Home Wedding, Nairn Highlands - Wedding Videography Scotland

Keeping up with my little trips down memory lane from last year I’m delighted to be able to share Anna and Sean’s highlights film. This was my second trip to Nairn in the space of two weeks and also my second family home wedding in two weeks. Quite the first.

I had filmed Anna’s brothers wedding in Nairn about 5 years ago and it’s always so lovely to be chosen to film another family members big day. Gives me a warm glow :)

Anna and Sean were great all day, spirits were high during the morning preps and I could just tell straight away this was going to be a top day. After a little while spent with Anna and the girls at the family home it was a short trip to the rather lovely setting of Cawdor Church to met Sean and the boys. The church has a very historic and intimate feel and was a perfect setting for a perfect ceremony.

After the ceremony we scooted off to the beach for the couple shoot. A really beautiful setting as you’ll see from the film. Then it was back off to the family home where friends and family had already gathered, basking in the brilliant sunshine and enjoying a little fizz. What. A. Day. Thank you so much Anna and Sean for having me along to such a fab day.

What You Do for Me is Unbelievable - Wedding Maryculter House Hotel Aberdeen - Wedding Videography Scotland

Well, with no weddings on the immediate horizon in these strange times we find ourselves in it’s time to delve back into 2019 again for our full highlights films catch up and Sam and Aaron. I find myself up Aberdeen way quite often and do really enjoying filming at Maryculter House. It’s even better when you’ve been booked on a recommendation and get to catch up with couples from previous years, as was the case here.

Maryculter house is a little outside Aberdeen in a lovely woodland setting with the river running past it’s banks. A really lovely setting that I never tire of visiting. A really friendly bunch of staff just adds to a great experience shooting a wedding.

You can always tell how much fun a day is going to be during the morning preps and even more so here as Sam was not just celebrating a wedding but also her birthday. Double fizz for everyone :). Took a little time to catch up with the boys and the high spirits were mirrored in the boys as well. Everyone chilled and having a laugh. Perfect.

A terrific ceremony taken by Rachel Donald from Human Association Scotland was the centrepiece of the day and the room had been decked out in terrific fashion. Then it was time to kick off the celebrations and the couple shoot. I really enjoyed this one as not only were Sam and Aaron great fun but working alongside the photographer Debbie Walker was a friend of mine Scott. I actually filmed Scott’s wedding a few years back now so it was a lovely little surprise.

Needless to say the evening reception continued in quality fashion starting with a fab set of speeches. And a little surprise was the first speaker. Take a look :)

You Inspire me to Become a Better Person - Leith Theatre Wedding Edinburgh - Wedding Videography Edinburgh Scotland

Yes! Another highlights to share. Originally I was a guest for this one and offered to do a bit of filming for Helen and Dave as a wedding gift. Well, the current situation we find ourselves in got in the way of the wedding and 150 guests became 10 and Helen asked if it would still be OK for me to come along and film the shortened day. Was delighted to say yes and we just managed to beat the full lockdown to have a wonderful and intimate wedding ceremony taken by the fantastic Linda Keys, Celebrant.

Helen is the aunt of my eldest sons best mate so I have shared a few drinks with her and Dave to say the least. I knew this was going to be a fun day

First off I have to say.....that dress. Absolutely stunning. Helen had showed me a pic over Christmas and the real deal is quite something else. Beautiful and striking. Top work from Linda Friesen. Incredible.

Had a nice chilled time covering the preps and great to meet up with Graeme Wilson Photography again. Top guy to work alongside. Hair and make up team Lipstick, Lashes & Locks were great as well and plenty laughs were had.

Helen looked stunning arriving at the venue and the dress just looked great in every light.  I was super impressed with Leith Theatre. A really cool venue for a wedding and I’d love to shoot more there.

The reading for the ceremony had to be recorded and played back on a tablet during the proceedings and a very cool one it was at that. Was great to be able to include it at the start of the film. Also loved the loved the idea of the first fight box. Brilliant idea.

We spent some time getting footage of the guys after the ceremony with a little fizz thrown into the mix. Lovely chilled time giving me space to get some great shots during the couple shoot......did I mention the dress 🙂

Helen and Dave, can't wait for part two next year.

It's Hard to Put into Words but With You Everything Just Feels Right – Wedding Achnagairn Castle Estate, Inverness - Wedding Videography Scotland

Time to get restarted with the catch up on last years highlights films and no better place to start with Mia and Rob's stunning wedding day at Achnagairn Castle Estate. Achnagairn is a venue I've visited many times over the years and really is worth the trip from Edinburgh to Inverness. A really beautiful venue inside and out with stunning grounds. A top class exclusive use venue.

So, a perfect place to host Mia and Rob's Harry Potter themed wedding. I have to give these guys so much credit for organising such a spectacular day from the other side of the world. A crazy amount of work must have gone into this. I always like doing the preps on the day. For me, quite a relaxed start to things and plenty of time to get some killer footage. One of the big bonuses here is that I also get to cover some of the boys getting ready as everyone is on site and it's just a short stroll between rooms. Much fun was had in the morning and it was a relaxed atmosphere which was helped along but the fantastic suppliers listed below. Top work people!

The ballroom is always the centrepiece of day and, as always, looked spectacular. Another fantastic Humanist ceremony overseen by top chap Halde Pottinger. Halde always brings a great sense of fun to the occasion but is also able to inject heartfelt warmth as well. So a fab ceremony that even treated us to an owl based ring delivery :)

The grounds here are great for a couple shoot and this was no exception. Lovely to work alongside photographer Justin Scobie again as well. Lovely guy. The guests enjoyed the fizz as we were treated to a lovely September day in the Scottish Highlands. Perfect.

A great set of speeches led us towards the evenings entertainment and a very cool first dance. Mia and Rob, thanks for having me along.

I Love You with all my Heart and You Truly are my World - Wedding Orocco Pier, South Queensferry - Wedding Videography Edinburgh, Scotland

Time again to delve back into some of last years highlights films in the year we became Pindrop. Ashley and Graeme's fantastic wedding day was full of style, heart, humour and love.

We started off the day covering some preps at the fantastic Orocco Pier in the beautiful small town of South Queensferry just outside Edinburgh. What followed was a lovely ceremony in Dunfermline. Dunfermline always holds a strong place in my heart as my Grandmother lived just outside the town and my Dad was a big Pars fan (Dunfermline FC that is). The sunshine was really spectacular for everyone arriving.

Then we dashed back to South Queensferry for a great couple shoot. The town really does make a fabulous back drop with it's little side streets and high street overlooking the sea. A set of funny and heartfelt speeches followed back at Orocco Pier and then it was time to dance the night away. Thanks for having me along on your big day guys, it was a belter!

Love You More Than I did Yesterday but Less Than Tomorrow and Beyond. Dalmahoy Hotel Wedding - Videography Edinburgh and Scotland

As I go back through my highlights films from last year this is a really important one for me that means a lot.  Many of the films last year were booked before I rebranded the company to Pindrop.  However, Karyn and John were the first couple to book me under the rebranded name of Pindrop.  I couldn’t be happier that they did and this will always be a special film for me because of that.

Karyn and John’s big day took place at the fantastic Dalmahoy Hotel just outside Edinburgh.  One of the really fantastic things about the this venue is that they have a beautiful and intimate church right in the grounds.  However, it feels like it’s own little space away from the hotel and you couldn’t really ask for a more perfect spot.

As you can see there was a lot of fun had during the preps before I move onto the church to catch yup with boys.  Then followed a really personal ceremony that was just a joy to be a witness to.  It’s no secret that I love a confetti shot and  the backdrop of the church really makes for a beautiful shot and I loved Karyn and John’s reaction to the confetti clouds :)

It was also great to catch up with photographer Alastair and his awesome wife and shooting partner, Rose.  Been a loooong time since I caught up with these guys and great to see they are just as lovely as I remember.  Had a great couple shoot as the Scottish November weather smiled kindly on us.

The room for dinner had been beautifully put together and was a perfect scene for some lovely words during the speeches and it was great to hear a bit of background on how this fantastic couple met.

Kings of the fireworks scene 21CC lit up the skies before the evening reception kicked off proper.

Karyn and John, thank you for kick-starting this new chapter in my life. Always.

I Promise to share my French Fries, Chocolate and Wine with You - Dundas Castle Wedding - Wedding Videography Edinburgh, Scotland

I love a multicultural wedding so was delighted Candy and Kerem asked me to be the videographer for their big day. A fantastic coming together of friends and family from Germany, Turkey and here in the UK. All set to the beautiful Scottish surroundings of Dundas Castle in South Queensferry, Edinburgh.

The old keep makes for an incredible ceremony venue. Being both intimate and grand at the same time not to mention packed with history. The ceremony was taken by Graham Duff of the Humanist Fellowship of Scotland and some really beautiful words were exchanged.

After the ceremony it was time to get the party started and the entrance hall of Dundas Castle is quite the place to start it. Wow! Robbie from Duke Photography and I took advantage of the great weather and took the guys around the grounds for a fantastic and really relaxed couple shoot. A great set of speeches followed before everyone settled down to dinner. After that, the evening kicked off it great style and Dundas was filled with fun, laughter and dancing. Candy and Kerem, I can't thank you enough for having me along to your big day and I wish you all the happiness and more for your future.

Megan And Jamie's Full Wedding Film Highlights - Canongate Kirk and George Hotel Edinburgh - Wedding Videography Scotland

Catching up with some full highlights films from last year here at Pindrop and what better way than with a little look into Megan and Jamie's big day. Great preps followed by an against the clock dash to Canongate Kirk - The Kirk of Holyroodhouse and Edinburgh Castle for a fab ceremony taken by Rev. John Mitchell. Good fun had on the group photo session expertly handled by Mike Cook Photography. Mike and I got a little ride in a classic car as the bridesmaids had headed back to the hotel courtesy of Edinburgh Classic Wedding Cars for a short couple shoot. Even managed to get a pass through security on the Fast and Furious 9 set for a few shots. Top tip, if you need to get something done take a bride and groom with you 🙂

Then back to the InterContinental Edinburgh The George for the party and speeches.

Was helped hugley by having the very talented Jonathan Ley of Useful Content shooting alongside me. Top work sir.

Stacey and Martin's Wedding Film Teaser - Bogbain Farm Inverness - Wedding Videography Scotland

I’m currently working on uploading some of last years full highlights sequences but, in the meantime, here’s another of the little teaser films.

Fully back at work now after the holidays and super excited to be able to share my first little teaser of the year courtesy of Stacey and Martin. Always enjoy a little journey up to Inverness and was well up for my first time shooting at Bogbain Farm. Terrific venue just outside the city with a fab intimate and warm feel for a wedding day.

Had a really good laugh with these guys during the preps at Drumossie Hotel just a few minutes away from the venue.

Ceremony room looked stunning at Bogbain for an equally fab ceremony. Weather wasn't to kind to us but Stacey and Martin braved the elements for some couple shots. Troopers! Lovely to work alongside Fairtale Asylum on stills duty.

A little surprice visit from Waiters Who Sing got the party started and Three Card Trick ramped it up a notch for the evening party.

Enjoy!
